Undead are also vulnerable to holy damage, of course. So a Holy Hand Grenade, being two objects combined, does a total of 3d6+2d4 damage, split between bludgeoning, piercing, and fire for the d6s and 2d4s of holy. Given it was undead, I figured now would be the best time to use it, in which I revealed to the party that I had made a Holy Hand Grenade in my off time to massive uproar, and lobbed it at the beast. I don't remember the relative statblock it had, but it was crushing our party of five pretty hard. In our way was a Huge sized necrocraft that was demolishing us, though. The entire army was out facing this threat, and we were trying to get outside to reach the summoner before he set off the magic WMD he stole. Some time later, as we were resting in the city's castle, we got attacked by a rogue summoner who had an army of devils and necrocraft assaulting the castle. So I made a Pellet Grenade and combined it with a flask of Holy Water for cheap, and packed it in a backpack. My immediate reaction upon getting this, after combining Alchemist's Fire and Liquid Ice and summarily breaking physics, is remembering that Holy Water, something I had a stash of, technically is an alchemical splash weapon, although I can't craft it. Useless to non-alchemists, the Hybridization Funnel has one purpose: with a DC 25 check (Which I had a 14 + 1d6 + 2 from a familiar to), you can combine two alchemical splash weapons into one, which would have the effects of both. Given we had just defeated a major boss, we had a ridiculous amount of gold, and one of the items I decided to pick up is a very, very minor magic item called the Hybridization Funnel. I was trying to diversify my options, so I had created a wide variety of alchemical items from the book. In all of my down time we had with the character, I spent time making potions or alchemical items.

With a Craft (Alchemy) check, you can create alchemical items such as alchemist fires and more by spending some time and a bit of gold. I was playing Vega, a fetchling Investigator (Alchemist/Rogue) and I think we were Level 8 at the time.Īlchemy in Pathfinder 1e is a bit difficult to get into, but really easy once you do some reading. I still play with this group (I DM now!), but for a while about a year ago my friends and I were playing a fairly homebrew campaig.
